MARAE Izakaya, located at Chadstone Shopping Centre, is seeking a passionate, reliable, and skilled Japanese Hot Food Cook to join our kitchen team.

 

 

 

The Role

 

We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing high-quality Japanese hot food, has a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Prepare and cook Japanese hot food dishes according to our recipes, standards, and presentation requirements.
- Ensure the consistency, quality, and freshness of all dishes served.
- Maintain efficient food preparation and cooking processes during busy service periods.
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to meet restaurant standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and sanitised kitchen and work area.
- Assist with stock control, food storage, and minimising food waste.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.

 

 

 

Skills and Requirements:

 

- At least 2 years of experience in Japanese hot food cooking.
- Experience working in a busy restaurant or commercial kitchen.
- Strong cooking skills and a passion for Japanese cuisine.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high food quality standards.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Must hold a valid visa with work rights in Australia.
