On the 13th, Sem Souk Hang, president of the Cambodia Korea Tourism Guide Association, said in an interview with the Phnom Penh Post, "What the Korean government should do is better educate its citizens about typical online scams, especially scams baited by high-paying job offers, and how to prevent harm." He said, "Most of the victims are people who applied for illegal jobs," and added, "It is regrettable that the Korean government does not distinguish between (fraud) crimes and tourism." The Cambodian government is responding strongly to online crimes, On the same day, Cambodia's Minister of Interior said, "We are continuously working to prevent abuse by foreign criminal networks," and added, "Over the past two years, we have deported more than 15,000 foreigners involved in online crimes." He continued "Combating cybercrime is not Cambodia's responsibility alone; it is an international task that requires cooperation among multiple countries," emphasizing the urgent need for cooperation between Korea and Cambodia. He added, "We understand the feelings of the Korean people who have been harmed," but also said, "What we hope for is for Cambodia to understand that Cambodia was also a victim of this crime." Contrary to the Cambodian government's claims, according to the '2025 Human Trafficking Report' released by the U.S. State Department on the 29th of last month, Cambodia's human trafficking risk has reached the highest level of 3 for four consecutive years. The report pointed out, "The Cambodian government does not meet the minimum standards for eradicating human trafficking and is not making significant efforts to do so,,,,"  pointing out that the reason is the close involvement between criminal organizations and high-ranking officials, which leads to inadequate government response. So, since these things are happening because your country's people are voluntarily trying to do this, the saying is to educate them better. It's not entirely wrong, but ,,, you should start by cleaning up your corrupt high-ranking officials and even the police who take bribes!! the whole country is overrun by perfect crime!!
