A post that became a hot topic for being rolled back.
On the 26th, a post titled 'User Rolled Back to KakaoTalk Previous Version' was spreading online, claiming that someone developed a patch program that reverts KakaoTalk to previous versions using the 'ReVanced' program, and that methods for reverting to previous versions are being shared via Telegram. This post contrasts with Kakao Vice President Woo Young-kyu's earlier statement at the National Assembly audit that "(rollback to KakaoTalk previous versions) is impossible," Netizens reacted with agitated reactions such as, "This is blatant perjury," "What can't be rolled back?", "Developers can get it done in just three or four days," "Playing with words," and "Please get rid of short-form videos too." However,,, netizens shared that they 'rolled back KakaoTalk' Looking at the details, it's not a rollback of the entire KakaoTalk update, ,,, the most complained part is that the 'feed-style' KakaoTalk home screen has been moved to the 'Friends List' as before. Strictly speaking, it's not an 'update rollback,' and the author described it as 'successfully activating the previous Friends tab.' KakaoTalk's update on the 23rd of last month included several features beyond the Friends tab. The 'Open Chat Tab' was revamped into the 'Now Tab,' allowing users to view shortforms instantly like TikTok, adding features such as installing chat room folders to store unread messages separately, recording voice talk calls with AI summarization, and updating messages within 24 hours. A Kakao representative said, "The rollback that became a hot topic online is about reviving the friends list, and what we're trying to do is also to revive the friends list," adding, "However, we are reviving the feature through additional patches and updates, not reverting to the previous state."
